Challenge
Kaipara District Council, NZ (KDC) manages a large portfolio of project across business, IT and civil works. KDC went to market to find a solution that could deliver seamless and automated project reporting; transparency of project fundamentals (including milestones; risk and issues; budgets and dependencies); and centralised project decision making with managed stage gate approvals. Consulcad was engaged to setup and implement project portfolio management with edison365.
How we solved it
Consulcad has successfully planned, managed, and delivered many similar PPM initiatives within the government. We adopted our standard ‘out of the box’ edison365 delivery approach and pre-configured toolkit, this included:
- Requirements validation workshops and configuration design with stakeholders.
- Deployment of standard PPM configuration updated to meet specific stakeholder requirements.
- Setup of scalable project templates for different project types.
- Dashboards and Reporting, including PSR and approval workflow.
The outcome
Successful and rapid delivery of the project resulted in:
- A central location for KDC projects and a holistic view for management.
- Improve governance and reporting capabilities.
- Uplift on PM Maturity.
- Increased project integrity and control.
